Major General F.C. Hilton-Sergeant
Frederick Cavendish Hilton-Sergeant was born 25th February 1898 and died1978. He was the son of Commander Frederick Marsh Sergeant and Ellen Beatrice Heffernan. He was in the Inns of Court Officer Training Corps at Berkhampsted in 1917 and then a Special Reserve
artillery 2nd lieutenant while at medical school. He joined the RAMC and served in India, China, and Egypt. He was awarded the CBE and CB and served as director of the Royal Army Medical College
from 1953-7. From 1957-1970 he was medical advisor to the British Red Cross.
